Summary

I began my nursing career in the Emergency Department which assisted in cultivating my time management skills/organization skills, handling high stress situations, and nursing care when patients are experiencing health care scares and emergencies. During that time, I was offered a position as a nurse/nurse manager in an internal medicine private practice. This nursing experience taught me how to assist with maintaining patient's health care, improve the skill of educating the patient how to better provide care and the importance of compliance due to their medical diagnoses. In 2009, the provider I was working for retired and I went into corrections. This offered me another view in nursing. Correctional nursing is providing a version of home health nursing, emergency room nursing, provider clinic nursing and Chronic Care nursing. As I promoted through corrections, I was able to add to my skill set of staff nursing as I evolved into a supervisor. Now, as the clinical supervisor in Urology, I continue to learn and become skilled in a specialty.
