As a Teaching Assistant at Lafayette College, my duties involve guiding students through the SEA-PHAGES biology lab, a semester-long course designed to engage students in scientific discovery. With a passion for both learning and teaching, I have acquired skills in RStudio, Excel, and leadership through my academic and extracurricular activities. Additionally, I have obtained CPR/AED/First Aid certification from the American Red Cross, highlighting my dedication to safety and preparedness.
Apart from my academic pursuits, I am also the Director of Facilities at Kappa Kappa Gamma, a sorority that promotes academic excellence, philanthropy, and sisterhood. In this role, I am responsible for ensuring the physical condition and appearance of the chapter house, as well as coordinating with vendors and contractors. I take great pride in being a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, where I have developed valuable friendships, networks, and values that will endure a lifetime.
As I look forward to new opportunities in biology, I am also working towards my goal of obtaining my BSN. I am particularly interested in sports medicine and orthopedics. I am eager to apply my knowledge, skills, and experience to tackle the challenges and opportunities in this field.
Coordinate physical therapy schedules for student-athletes, communicate with athletic trainers, file paperwork for athletes/trainers, keep facility clean and orderly, schedule appointments, answer phone calls, and answer questions about treatment plans.
Guide students through laboratory protocols, grade student lab notebooks, set up lab procedures aseptically, guide students in conducting their research, gather students' data, grade lab quizzes, asses final projects, and attend weekly TA meetings in addition to a 3-hour lab period.
I had the opportunity of shadowing Dr. David Miller and his dedicated team at Town Center Orthopedics. Experiencing their genuine hospitality and diligent patient care firsthand was truly inspiring. This opportunity has solidified my goal of becoming a nurse practitioner specializing in orthopedics. I am deeply thankful to Dr. Miller and the entire Town Center Orthopedics team for allowing me to take this significant step toward my career aspirations.
