College graduate with a degree in design studies. After relocating to a rural mountain town I was given the opportunity to buy the coffee shop I had been working for. While juggling all the responsibilities of a small business owner, I discovered that my strength lies in looking at the numbers. I enjoyed working on our accounting, keeping it tidy, and using it to inform my business decisions. I am looking to build on this experience, learn more about bookkeeping and accounting, and offer my spreadsheet superpowers to other small businesses.
Progressing from a volunteer on the Search and Rescue team, I was given the opportunity to get an EMT license. I now work as a paid EMT 2 days/week. While at work we are the primary response crew for 911 calls. My administrative job within the organization is to manage inventory and ordering of the medical supplies.
In the Summer of 2020 my co-worker and I had the opportunity to buy the coffee shop we had been working for. We ran it much like the previous owners at first, cleaned up the financial reporting, added lots of organization, and slowly made it our own. This was a very hands-on experience, I was responsible for everything from bookkeeping, managing loans, and finding grants, to staffing, training, and serving coffee and baking muffins myself.
Worked on research and development team to concept, prototype, and develop indoor hydroponic gardens.
