  • Altec, the company sponsor, tasked the group to redesign a nosewheel for a cable trailer (AD108E Altec Cable Trailer)
  • Used 2D and 3D drawings and modeling (CAD, SolidWorks)

  • Created BOM with various part prices for manufacturing and prototyping the design

CNC Machine Project (Manufacturing)

  • Worked as an individual to program CNC machines
  • Project was to create a small metal plate with various different aspects to it such as putting the letters "ISU" on the plate
  • Using a CNC machine lathe, code was written to cut out the metal plate
  • The metal plate needed specific cuts and edges to complete the project correctly, which could be accomplished through programming
  • After programming the machines using CAD and CAM software, the CNC lathe machine cut out the finished product
