Michael (Spenser) Evanko

In pursuant to the Department of Corrections’ mission, I performed and provided for the custody, control, supervision, and daily care of inmate security, and inmate care functions on various post assignments, including: housing units, control points, program/work assignments, and specific security areas. In my higher rank and management, I was assigned to posts requiring an increased knowledge of the correctional system, and a greater incidence of problem solving, situation assessment, and decision making.

Special assignments include: Selected as a member of the SWAT team, development and instruction of multiple department wide training programs, including taser certification and annual in-service courses, provided years of leadership in the special management housing, overseeing four mental health housing units and disciplinary segregation, created and led a recourse team which engaged severely mentally ill inmates in structured rehabilitation activities, and was a field training officer providing guidance and mentorship to entry level officers.

Armed security patrol officer for the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Tribal properties, Salem-Keizer Public Schools district buildings and properties, and various other events.

• Installed high-quality roofing systems, paying careful attention to hazards and other safety concerns.
• Installed, repaired, and replaced single-ply roofing systems on commercial buildings and properties.

• Owner/operator of two restaurant locations.
• Oversee hiring, firing, scheduling, training, and coordination of staff employed.
• Assign duties and tasks to be carried out by employees, and execute job performance evaluations.
• Create community connections for advertising, sponsoring, and growing business.
• Worked with a multitudes of entities to create a community based centered restaurant that was focused on the customers and community that surrounded them.
• Manage the restaurants budgets, purchasing, and ordering all food and supplies for day to day operations.
