Summary

As a dedicated educator at TIDE since August 2021, I have specialized in Career and Technical Education (CTE) Business and Digital Media Marketing. In December 2021, I expanded my role by co-teaching Business Dual Credit courses in collaboration with Foothill College on the TIDE campus.

By Fall 2023, I transitioned to teaching Graphic and Interactive Design, serving as a high school educator and Dual Credit instructor for GID 55 (UI/UX) and GID 60 (Careers in the Visual Arts). In early 2023, I completed "Unity 1: 3D Game Design and Game Engines" from UCLA Extension, mastering the creation of 3D games and virtual experiences using the Unity platform. This training, in my view, equipped me to guide students in conceptualizing games and developing comprehensive Game Design Documents.

As the Mentor Program Coordinator, I revitalized TIDE's Mentorship Program, facilitating monthly campus visits from industry professionals to enhance students' business communication skills and career readiness. Every year in February, I coordinate job shadows when the junior students participate in workplace shadowing, gaining real-world insights.

Additionally, I've been managing the TIDE website since 2022 ensuring the content remains fresh, updated, user-friendly and reflective of TIDE's culture of diversity and inclusiveness. Being a music enthusiast, I have also taken the initiative to establish a small band within the school.

Ever since I started teaching Mobile Game Design courses, I've been witnessing increased student engagement as they have started creating unique games of their own from scratch. Some examples of their work are available in my portfolio under the "Student Work" section.

Observing students thrive with my support in both high school and dual credit college classes within a project-based, hands-on learning environment, I am eager to teach GID 49, GID 67, and possibly GID 41, to provide comprehensive guidance and ensure students' continued interest in college courses.
