Adaptable professional with a quick-learning ability and a talent for adjusting to new environments. Skilled in rapidly acquiring new knowledge and applying it effectively. Driven by a passion for continuous learning and successfully navigating change.
During my practicum and clinical internship with Lifehouse, I have worked to bring a client-centered and trauma-informed care perspective to the children and families in rural New Mexico to overcome the impacts of generational trauma.
I previously worked as part of a management team and provided direct services. Management duties included being available for case staffing and doing quality assurance for the agency. I was also responsible for providing onboarding training for new staff as well as seeking ongoing training opportunities for current employees. Other management duties included managing/monitoring staff caseloads, providing employees with ongoing feedback, and working on policy development. Direct services duties included recruiting donors and volunteers to ensure positive program growth. Additional direct services related duties include screening participants for eligibility, creating strong mentoring relationships for participants in our program through ongoing support & engagement, and ensuring case notes and assessments are written agency standard.
In this position I worked as part of 3 tier program for the Safe and Stable Families Program. Practitioners served families referred through the Children Youth and Families Department. The program focused on serving at-risk families in Roswell, NM, and the surrounding area. The goal of the program was to utilize intensive, home-based intervention services to allow families working on treatment plans to reunite with children in state custody, to help families at risk of losing children to state custody due to parenting concerns learn the skills needed to keep custody of their children, and to create adequate support for foster families to prevent placement disruption.
