Race to Justice Volunteer Staff Facilitator

• Co-facilitated 1 full day racial justice training, every other month, starting August 2024 for Race to Justice internal reform effort (Expected 9 sessions during an 18-month period).
• Trained staff in what they can do to better address racial health gaps and improve health outcomes for all New Yorkers
• Taught staff how racism and other systems of oppression can affect health care.
• Studied how racism has impacted the agency's past work and new policies working to lessen that impact, during an eight-day Train-the-Trainer program led by expert trainers from national leadership organizations, Interaction Institute for Social Change (IISC)
• Served as a liaison to the Bureau of Vital Statistics Correction and Amendment Unit to share updates on the Core Workshop in staff meetings and other spaces.

• Developed and implemented classroom routines to address 140 students' needs and kept students on-task with proactive behavior modification and positive reinforcement

• Incorporated multiple types of teaching strategies into classroom: shifting between formal and informal methods of teaching to keep students engaged
