Mayor which included all of the usual Trial and Tribulations associated with public..and more! This was actually the most difficult and controversial position that I have ever held. It was also the most rewarding, interesting, educational and high profile position I have ever held.

As Mayor, one must learn or know how to deal with humans of all sizes, backgrounds, personalities, political ideas and ages. One must master the art of balancing a budget, working with local state and federal agencies as well as working with hundreds of employees and citizens. The Mayor must constantly promote the city and every business in that city. It's actually another version of the position of the President and CEO of our Chamber.

In 1996 the company asked me to sell my agency and become a District Manager as an independent contractor. It was a very tough decision because I loved my job as an insurance agent. As a DM:

• I recruited and hired over 100 new agents, of which most are very successful.
• District Manager’s Job description: Recruit-Train- Motivate -Manage.
• I took over an extremely low performing group of 15 agents.
• I built this District into an award winning small business.
• We had offices in 15 local cities, 60 agents with a multi million dollar portfolio.
• The ONLY reason I retired was due to my fight against stage 4 colo-rectal Obviously, I won that fight.

Elected to represent the CIty of Redondo Beach, District 1

• I built my own successful agency from scratch and eventually opened offices in Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach and Torrance.
• My Agency included up to 9 people hired and working directly for me.

My agency was in the top 2% of the producers at Farmers Insurance, with $4,000,000 in annual premium consisting of Casualty insurance, Life Insurance and Securities/Mutual Funds.

I opened offices at 225 S. Sepulveda, Manhattan Beach, 1611 S. Catalina Ave, Redondo Beach and 3838 W. Carson St, Torrance.

I was hired while in High School. I was hired as a "box boy", promoted to Retail Clerk and rose to the position of Assistant Manager. I am proud of the fact that I was the youngest person to hold that position in the entire company world wide.
