I’m 18 years old and just graduated from high school. I’m currently looking for a job where I can continue building my skills and gain more experience. I’ve worked as a Medical Assistant, receptionist, and in customer service—doing everything from drawing blood and taking X-rays to making smoothies and running the cash register. I’m a fast learner, a hard worker, and I care about making sure people leave happy.
I work at GetWell and have learned a lot since I started. I really enjoy working with patients—whether I’m drawing blood, taking X-rays, administering shots, or assisting in other ways. As an MA, you do a bit of everything, and it's important to adapt to each patient to make sure they feel comfortable and leave happy. You also get put in all kinds of situations, so staying calm is a big part of the job.
Working as a receptionist at Famwell Health has been an incredibly enjoyable experience for me. It allowed me to interact with a diverse group of people daily, enhancing my communication and interpersonal skills. The role also helped me develop a strong sense of organization and multitasking, as I managed appointments, handled inquiries, and answered the phone. I also managed the insurance and all the faxes, while shadowing the MAs and getting experience with the patients. Overall, this position has contributed greatly to building my professional experience and is preparing me for any other future healthcare jobs.
I’ve worked both as a cashier and on the employee side, so I’ve had experience doing a little bit of everything. I answered phones, did the dishes, and helped customers, but I also made smoothies and ran the cash register. It taught me how to multitask, stay organized, and give good customer service no matter what I was doing. I learned how important it is to stay positive and make sure people leave happy.
Working as a cashier was a way to build communication skills.
You're constantly engaging with a diverse array of customers, learning to interpret their needs, respond effectively, and sometimes even de-escalate situations. It was a fun and enjoyable job.
