*Competent in administering the Risk Instrument Tool (RAI) which determines if a youth stays in JDC or is released on an Alternative to Detention ( as well as being able to set that up).
*Trained in all areas of the building, able to work in the Control Room, Intake ( conducting body searches, finger prints and admits), in all pods, Operations which entails bringing together the court calendar each morning and documenting after court hearings as well as supervising visiting and adding information to shift summary/ chronos in FA.
* I was a Field Training Officer ( FTO) at the Juvenile Detention Center for many years training new staff in the control room which is the hub of safety and security of the building. I distributed equipment such as radios, the safety tools, duress alarms and handcuffs. I monitored the pods through cameras and watched movement throughout the building. I also worked in the pods ( living units ).
* I was also one of the people that was trained in CS, Skill Streaming and and giving the PREA assessments.
* The focus at this time in my career was maintaining structure with the residents in the pods, monitoring behaviors, adhering to the building schedule and maintaining the safety and security of the building.
