Doctoral Capstone
1 Month- Complete needs assessments to determine the areas of occupational need for the at-risk youth population at NDYCC.
- Develop and implement a life skills community re-entry training program to increase the youth's chances and successful re-entry into the community follow release from incarceration.
Acute Care Level II Fieldwork
2 Months- Contribute to individual sessions, co-treatment sessions and interdisciplinary care through collaboration and client-centered care.
- Deliver occupational therapy services for acute care patients to support occupational performance and safe transitions out of the hospital.
Skilled Nursing and Outpatient Level II Fieldwork
3 Months- Contribute to care plan development and interdisciplinary team meetings by providing input on functional performance and participation in daily occupations.
- Deliver occupational therapy services to both skilled nursing and adult outpatient patients to support participation in daily occupations and access to their environment.
Aging in Place Level I Fieldwork
3 Months- Conducted occupational therapy assessments and evaluations with well-elderly adults in assisted living setting; developed individualized wellness plans to support functional independence and promote aging in place.
Mental Health Level I Fieldwork
1 Month- Co-led therapeutic mental health groups for incarcerated adolescents focused on life skills, coping strategies, and building peer relationships.
