Sydney Matthews

I am a highly motivated student with a weighted GPA of 4.4, and unweighted 4.0. Since the start of middle school I have pushed myself to take challenging classes and join as many social and academic clubs/organizations as I can for the betterment of my character and the goal to one day attend NC State. Each of these opportunities have helped me development necessary leadership, observational, and communicational skills, and shaped me into a well-rounded person. I am self-directed and energetic with superior performance in both autonomous or collaborative environments working independently and collaborating with others on group projects.

I earned my Bronze and Silver Award in Girl Scouts in middle and early high school for the completion of outstanding community service projects. As well as earned my Program Aid Certification in Girl Scouts in 9th grade, for my outstanding ability to work with leaders and fellow scouts. I have received Academic Bars every semester from 9th-12th grade for staying on A honor roll. Finally, I participated on my schools living literature team in 11th grade that competed and won 4th place at North Carolina's Beta Club State Convention.
