Whose veterans were from various socioeconomic backgrounds and were receiving a variety of different services from HUDVASH case managers.
• Skilled in DSM-5 mental health diagnoses, disabilities and treatment procedures including acute, chronic and traumatic illnesses/injuries, psychopharmacology/psychoeducation which enabled me to provide knowledge of medications and their effects/side effects, as well as medical terminology to formulate a treatment plans with a diverse treatment team.

• Skilled in DSM-5 mental health diagnoses, disabilities and treatment procedures including acute, chronic and traumatic illnesses/injuries, psychopharmacology/psychoeducation which enabled me to provide knowledge of medications and their effects/side effects, as well as medical terminology to formulate diverse treatment plans for clients that were updated quarterly.
• Provided group therapy as well as individual therapy to clients using treatment modalities such as Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques-Substance Abuse two times a day for 3 hours each, twice a week.

• Referred students to outside community resources such as Mental Health Services, coordinating with the University of Houston’s School of Optometry to provide free eye exams and glasses for students, as well as providing resources for parents interested in GED courses, parenting classes, as well as referred to food and clothing pantries. Met with probation officers for students on probation. Assessed students for abuse and neglect, referred them to Child protect Services, and compiled documentation for investigations.
