I currently work evening shift and am the supervisor of the nursing team and clientele. This includes up to 350 clients in our main hospital and 17 cottages. Included in my supervisory duties are making rounds and assessing client needs in each area. When necessary this includes obtaining supplies from our central supply for client care while the department is closed. In the event of an emergency, I respond and assist as necessary as well as filling out all paperwork for the incident. Communication between nursing staff, doctors and administration is essential to my role. I work with all to ensure the best quality of care is provided at all times. I am am available to provide support and guidance to all staff and provide training as needed. I also oversee the daily staffing requirements.

Acted as patient advocate and implemented total patient care through a team nursing process covering 25-30 high acuity patients per shift. Provided behavioral/emotional support and supervision for those with multiple mental disorders. Administered medications.

Physical assessments of newly discharged postpartum patients and newborns. Postpartum and newborn teachings. Breastfeeding assistance Setting up and monitoring of bililights.

Maternal child float. Floating between antepartum, postpartum, newborn ans special care nurseries and pediatrics. Partnered with team of registered nurses to ensure overall well-being of all patients including IV maintenance and insertion. Assessment of vital signs, accurate documentation of all elements of nursing process and follow-up care.

Staff nurse on geriatric unit of 25-30 patients on ventilators and end of life care. Evaluated patient care needs, prioritized treatments and maintained patient flow. Accurately documented all elements of nursing process and follow-up care. Assisted patients with multiple chronic diagnoses including COPD and asthma . Managed a caseload of 20 clients, providing education, treatments, IV therapy, venepuncture and wound care. Treated patients with strokes, head traumas, comas and intracranial hematomas. Administered blood products as well as medications.
