  • 2019-Volunteer, Projects Abroad, Western Samoa. Promoted and educated community members about healthy living through exercise and nutrition, visited multiple primary school sites where I taught nutrition classes to 3rd-8th grade classes, developed customized lesson plans around different nutrition concepts that were suitable for different grade levels, created a flyer and presentation for the OBGYN center at a local hospital, on information and advantages around breastfeeding, conducted family home visits, performed assessment and health screenings for those that were diabetic. This also involved follow up with individuals to ensure they were following their exercise and diet instructions, initiated health screenings at a local gym that offered free training to people starting on their health journey. I assessed blood pressure, body measurements, and BMI, and collaboratively helped people to create a health plan involving integrating new foods in their diet, and to continue exercise.
