After graduating from culinary school, I found myself uncertain about my career path, particularly in the wake of the global pandemic. Given my strong emphasis on hygiene, I sought to further my education. While exploring various career options, I developed an interest in dentistry. In 2022, I enrolled at FCC to study dental assisting. During my seventh or eighth month in the program, I was advised to begin searching for an externship. Taking the initiative, I applied for jobs as a student and was fortunate to be hired at Dentists of Hollywood as a DAIT while still in school. By December 2022, I was promoted to a Dental Assistant (D.A.). A year later, I was offered the opportunity to become a Licensed Dental Assistant (LDA) and to enroll in the corresponding program. For the past year, I have been honing my skills in the LDA role, training over five externs, some of whom remain with the company. I have also played a key role in hiring and training new Dental Assistants for our office, successfully preparing more than four skilled D.A.s to join the PDS health family. I collaborate closely with the specialty supervisor and leads to ensure that all specialty doctors receive the best possible experience in our office. Additionally, I manage and approve biweekly schedules for my entire team and assist the front desk with scheduling for new and returning patients. Working alongside my owner doctor, I strive to ensure our practice operates at peak efficiency. My strongest skills include organization, problem-solving, leadership, adaptability, computer literacy, and creativity. I am open to relocating to pursue greater opportunities within PDS health and to achieve my professional goals.
