Everyday I truly try my best to be a positive person and to take every chance I can get to grow. I wanted to try a different for my career and I chose to go into the Service Industry. I wanted to explore more of a team aspect and interact with individuals more often. When I became a manager, I very intimated at first, however, I was excited to grow and expand my horizon.
I was involved in the hiring process, training and guiding new hires, helping the servers navigate through difficult task, taking on customers complaints to make sure they were heard and pleased after they left the building. I learned how to do event planning and working with different customers to ensure their events planned out correctly. I learned how to schedule over 80 staff members and reported issues to higher management with great detail.
After a few months being a manager, I was promoted to Assisted General Manager. I came in every day wanting to grow as an individual and understand how I could be a great manager. I had the responsibilities of opening and closing the store, change orders, resetting drawers, reviewing and analyzing menus, and coming up with ways to improve the tasks the staff would have to do in a more efficient way.
After graduating High School, I chose to explore the Certified Nursing Assistant route. I worked in the hospital on many different floors and was able to work in the ICU. As a CNA, I cared for patients after surgery and when I worked in the ICU, I worked with many different diseases. The tasks that I was responsible for was taking blood pressure, charting, blood sugars, assisting patients to the bathroom, aiding the nurses with any type of help they needed. When I started to understand the job completely, I was asked to train the new hires that were brought on as a CNA. I felt honored and was grateful I was able to teach and guide the others in the right direction, to take care of the patients the correct way.
