  • Risk Assessment/Victimology: to evaluate level of urgency on cases, prioritize MMIR efforts to cases, identify vulnerabilities and risk factors that may impact the safety and well-being of indigenous individual. As well as providing the risk assessment and vulnerabilities to law enforcement to better assist with case information.
  • Multidisciplinary Response: collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop communication of case prevention strategies, programs within communities, victim services, law enforcement to help identify investigators and agencies involved in case.
  • Data Case Information Sharing: facilitate the exchange of intelligence and information between relevant agencies and organizations. Ex: law enforcement information, child protection, social services, medical, correctional information.
  • Facilitates technical and investigative assistance for Tribal law enforcement, federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies during active and unsolved missing and murdered Indigenous relative's cases.
  • Provides training and education and material on topics related to MMIR awareness, prevention, impact, and response. Empower community members and law enforcement personnel with the knowledge and skills needed to address MMIR cases effectively.
