The EFT Externship was an introductory course on Emotionally Focused therapy that taught basic experiential and system concepts of the EFT model. Therapists learned how attachment science translates to interventions for individuals, couples, and families. The course included live observation of sessions with real couples, skills training exercises, and discussion on specific cases of clinical material. We also learned to develop skills in helping partners reprocess emotional responses that create and get couples stuck in relational distress.
