This standalone emergency room serves a rural community and primarily receives critical trauma patients, often via ambulance or helicopter. The facility's primary role is to rapidly assess and stabilize patients so they can be safely transported to larger hospitals for advanced care. Responsible for independent laboratory support including specimen collection, analysis, quality control, and timely reporting of oftentimes critical results to assist providers in urgent, life-saving clinical decision-making efforts.
