Thomas Curlee

This summer, I would like to build upon my experience and work in an environment out west learning more about my interests and how I can help companies grow in their customer service. I am a dedicated student interested in applying excellent communication and interpersonal skills to a customer service role. I am experienced in data entry and handling money. I can quickly memorize product details and build customer relationships. My team leaders have said that I am a dedicated employee with customer service, multitasking, and time management abilities. I am devoted to giving every customer a positive and memorable experience. In the end, I am a highly-motivated employee with desire to take on new challenges with a strong work ethic, adaptability, and exceptional interpersonal skills. I am adept at working effectively unsupervised and quickly mastering new skills.

• General Member: maintained a cumulative GPA of 2.5+ to remain in good standing, volunteered regularly on campus for service hours, participated in leadership and recruiting positions within the fraternity.

• New Member Educator: Elected by the Chi Chi chapter to serve as a leader for new members, organized an 8 week New Member Program for Fall including weekly meetings, events, and activities for new members, educated prospective members on the history and purpose of the organization as well as its values and traditions, promoted scholarship, responsibility, and empowerment, and provided guidance and support for new members.

In both of these positions, I was responsible for:

• Determining appropriate budget allocations for all approved student activities, registered student organizations and other student-related expenditures.
• Considering issues and to formulate policies in areas primarily or exclusively involving the student body.
• Helping establish and maintain student body participation in athletic events and campus recreation sports.
• Working closely with the student body and college administration to encourage communication and collaboration.
• Reporting recommendations and coordinate multiple event logistics involving the Birmingham Southern student body.

• Proficient in guiding and assisting new students during orientation programs, providing information and support.
• Strong knowledge of campus resources, policies, and academic programs to effectively answer questions and address concerns.
• Skilled in leading group activities, presentations, and campus tours to familiarize new students with the university.
• Ability to create a welcoming and inclusive environment, fostering a sense of belonging and community for new students.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with new students and facilitate their transition to college life.

• Regularly interact with the leaders of other fraternity/sorority governing councils, student government, and other campus organizations to promote collaboration, shared experiences, and the ideal of community.
