I was born in Kotzebue and lived on the Noatak River for my all my life until i was 17, I lived an almost complete subsistence lifestyle, minus grocery staples such as flour and shortening, that were barged in once a year, through span-alaska, We hunted an fished for our meat, we sometimes sewed our own clothes and fur outerclothing. We got our water from the river in the summer by carrying it in 5 gallon jugs to our cabin, and in the winter we hauled ice we chipped out of river cracks to thaw in a 55 gallon container in the house. We lived completely without electricity for 7 years. I started cooking when I was 6 and learned how to make everything from scratch. I am now a mother of 8 and grandmother to 8. I have worked in a multitude of places and held many odd jobs, with a diverse multitude of people with many different issues, mental, developmental, and physical impairments, My best ability is the ability to remain calm in all situations and take the time to think of solutions. My lifes goal is enjoy each and every day and to try and be useful.
