Dear Sir or Madam,

I am applying for the General Manager position at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center after learning about it through an online search.  With over two decades of service to the organization, I am ready to lead the facility into its next era, guided by a vision rooted in fiscal responsibility, collaborative leadership, and innovation. Through developing a deep network of relationships within the hospitality industry, both nationally and locally, my strong engagement and national visibility set me apart, positioning me to elevate the center through strategic business development, impactful public relations, and meaningful industry relationships.  The Myrtle Beach Convention Center is at a pivotal point where operational excellence, community engagement, and strategic growth must align to strengthen its role as both an economic driver and civic asset.

As renovations continue, my vision is to position the Myrtle Beach Convention Center as a dynamic anchor within the downtown and entertainment districts—driving both visitation and economic impact. I have identified three high-growth revenue streams that align with industry trends and the destination’s strengths: regional and corporate events, eGaming, and the rapidly expanding religious and faith-based markets. Currently, sports tourism accounts for approximately 35–37% of booked events; with targeted outreach and strategic partnerships, this segment can grow by at least 15%, increasing its share to 50%.  On a global scale, the faith-based market represents a $1.2 trillion economy and continues to grow at approximately 4.5% annually, with religious tourism emerging as one of the fastest-growing travel segments.  Given South Carolina’s position within the Bible Belt, this presents a significant opportunity for the Convention Center to expand its reach and relevance.  By targeting business and faith conferences, leadership and entrepreneurship summits, and personal development and spiritual growth events—such as Women of Joy—MBCC can increase faith-based bookings by an estimated 14%.  In a strong-drive market like Myrtle Beach, regional and corporate events present an additional opportunity for a 15% increase, with both segments driving extended stays and higher visitor spending, driven by family travel. This growth strategy will be driven through a focused sales approach, including participation in industry trade shows, hosted-buyer programs, targeted sales missions to key feeder markets, and curated familiarization (FAM) tours designed to showcase Myrtle Beach as a premier destination for these high-impact event segments.

Throughout my career with the City, I have partnered with executive leadership to turn strategy into results by guiding cross-functional initiatives, supporting budget planning, and building partnerships that enhance tourism and community impact.  My leadership has focused on aligning operations, marketing, and guest experience to drive growth while maintaining accountability to municipal standards. Initiatives such as the Serenity Spectrum Space for the neurodivergent community, digital engagement platforms, and crisis communication during COVID-19 demonstrate my ability to address complex challenges while fostering innovation and inclusivity.  My tenure has given me deep institutional knowledge of the facility’s operations, culture, and opportunities, enabling me to lead with both continuity and a fresh perspective.  With that said, I am committed to strengthening team performance, enhancing revenue strategies, and positioning the Myrtle Beach Convention Center as a model for innovation, accessibility, and community-centered leadership along the Southeast coast.

Respectfully,

Tiffany Andrews
