The COVID-19 Lab and Testing Coordinator will oversee the process of ensuring COVID-19 results from Poplar Health sponsored testing clinics are delivered effectively to patients.

This includes oversight of data entry processes, merging of databases, coordination of teams, quality assurance, and producing daily and weekly reports. It also includes management of a team of individuals providing results over the phone, and coordination with other resulting methods, such as text-based result software.

Responsible for venipuncture’s, finger sticks, and micro blood specimens from inpatients and outpatients, transporting specimens ordered to the lab yin a timely manner. Endure patient confidentiality and patients Identification for their safety. Being able to demonstrate the ability to perform specimens from all Bariatric, Geriatric, Oncology, Ortho, Ana Cardiac patients. Trained in modified droplet protections, fit testing, and proper use of a N95/PAPR (Powered Air Purifying Respirator) and face shields. Qualified to safely collect blood samples from patients suspected to be infected with the global pandemic virus Covid-19.

• Assisted with office procedures by monitoring patient flow, performing telephone screening and maintaining sample drug lists.
• Contacted physicians, nursing stations or reference laboratories for resolution assistance with unusual test orders.
• Protected patients by following infection control, sharps disposal and biohazardous waste disposal procedures.
• Tracked collected specimens by initialing, dating and noting times of collection.
• Handled insurance verification tasks using Software and Software to validate patient insurance information.
• Stocked phlebotomy cart or carrier with appropriate supplies.
• Spoke with patient to gather information for lab records, reduce fear or anxiety and optimize cooperation.
• Validated blood and specimen collection orders, alerting nurses or physicians of discrepancies between order and nursing station logs.
• Logged patient information and recorded results into system.
• Organized daily work based on collection priority.
• Centrifuged blood samples as outlined in clinical protocols.
• Followed established guidelines for reporting significant medical errors or unanticipated outcome in patient care.

• Conducted venipuncture and other CT procedures.

• Labeled transfer tubes and followed exact directions for handling and storing specimens for transport.

• Drew blood from veins by vacuum tube, syringe or butterfly venipuncture methods.

Administrate sterile intravenous (IV), port-a-cath, and venipuncture so that the medications are successfully giving upon treatment in the medical facility.
