Route Specialist

I am responsible for picking up my route paperwork, handheld and printer every morning. I then preform my pre trip inspection, pick up my trailer, top off with fuel, check in at the dock and check and secure my load.

I then deliver each order to the appropriate location. While at the location I am responsible for checking the order to confirm it’s all accounted for. It then has to be taken into the store and each shelf has to be sufficiently stocked. Any left over product has to be properly back stocked.

Any load errors or damages has to be noted and invoice adjustments has to be made.

I normally have 8 to 13 stops per day and worked 10-15 hour days.

At the end of the day I return to the plant and check back in at the dock to report any variances to my load. I then park the empty trailer and preform a post check of my truck.

As a Patrol Deputy with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office I was responsible for responding to all 911 emergency calls within my county and calls for service. I have investigated everything was homicides, domestic situations to personal crimes like trespassing, residential breaking and entering in progress and past, property damage etc. I was also responsible for traffic enforcement issuing traffic citations when appropriate and conducting drug investigations and making appropriate arrests and charges.

During my 10 years spent as a patrol Deputy I was a certified K9 handler for 3 years. In addition to my regular patrol responsibilities I was responsible for handling any needs for a K9s assistance. I was also responsible for handling any K9 assistance requests from surrounding agencies and counties.

I was transferred to a Breaking and Entering task force. I served in this capacity for about 1 year. In this role I done follow ups on breaking and entering that occurred in our county. I would do a deeper investigation into the incident and draw charges on and make any arrest that was appropriate.

I was then transferred to a Street Crimes task force unit called TRACE. Traffic And Criminal Enforcement.

Our responsibility on this team was to work high visibility patrol and highly pro active enforcement in areas of our County that had a high crime rate.

We would also handled any complaints the Sheriff had come in that he needed pro active aggressive criminal enforcement taken on.

We also assisted our undercover Vice and Narcotics division with drug investigations they were working.

We also assisted homeland security and any other outside agencies that had targeted enforcement investigations they were working within our county.

Within my 15 year career I was a certified SWAT operator and served for 6 years on our Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team. During this time our SERT team would respond to all high risk situations and would assist in serving high risk search warrants and warrant apprehensions.

I was also a certified Honor Guard member. Our responsibilities on the Honor Guard team was to provide professional service to show last respects at appropriate funerals. We also had other responsibilities at ceremonies etc.
