Timothy Brophy

Supervise , assign, review and participate in the daily work assignments in Public Works Buildings and Special events department. Manage and schedule the continuous work of 9 Borough employees. Oversee and inspect the work of employees and outside contractors related to Public Works to ensure the work is completed in a safe and timely manner. Ordering job materials and contacting proper authorities for permits and road closures. Provides, fabricates and customizes materials for over 30 special events. Coordinates with Police department, Fire department, Event Director, Recreation director, outside contractors, as well as other entities to get the task at hand to strive for perfection.

Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of 18 government buildings. These duties include:

• Banners - repair and change as needed for seasons
• Power washing - yearly in spring time for summer season
• Painting - as needed on doors, windows, benches, etc...
• Caulking - as needed on walls, doors, windows, etc..
• Plumbing - install or repair water heaters, sinks, drains, etc.. Also knowledge of irrigation systems and repairs.
• HVAC - change filters, capacitors, ducts to maintain efficiency.
• Electrical - install/repair wiring, lights, relays, outlets, ballasts, etc..
• Janitorial - clean, vacuum, dust, mop, wax,and dispose of trash
• Fax/phone lines - install/repair phone and fax lines
• Roofing - install/repair metal, and asphalt shingles as needed
• Snow removal - plowing, shoveling, and spreading calcium
• Concrete - repair/replace as needed
• Carpentry - install/ repair or replace windows, doors, walls, cabinets, podiums, steps, shelves, desks, countertops, kiosk signs, etc...
• Decorations for season - Christmas lights, wreaths, Christmas trees, corn stalks, hay bales, pumpkins, mums, etc..
• Keeping a daily log of all work performed by department and submitting a summary of it at the end of each month to office as well as any ongoing or future projects.
• Assisted in the preparation of the for the capital budget.
• Completes a monthly safety inspection report for 18 government buildings. Knowledge of proper procedure to complete playground safety inspections.
