Launched program with exceptional success. Each of the first three years have ITE scores and resident/faculty surveys above national average, 100% retention, and exceptional ACGME accreditation results.
Full-scope Family Medicine in addition to numerous physician leadership positions throughout Navy Medicine over a 23 year career. The two greatest highlights were serving as a Program Director (5 years) and "Specialty Leader" to the Surgeon General of the Navy (3.5 years).
Leadership
Uniformed Services Academy Family Physician of the Year— This honor is bestowed annually on the Uniformed Family Physician (Family Physicians from the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Public Health Service and Navy) who exemplifies the tradition of the family doctor and the contributions made by family physicians to the continuing health of the people in the Uniformed Services.
Teaching Awards— Seven from 2002 to 2017.
Thirty-seven peer reviewed publications in Evidence-Based Practice, American Family Physician, Journal of Family Practice, and FP Essentials. Three book chapters and eleven non-peer reviewed publications.
