  • Started out as a CSR and within 6 months I was moved to Specialty Equipment Tech. American Home Patient is a DME Company that takes care of people that have any kind of respiratory problems (oxygen, Cpap, Bipap, etc) or that may need a wheelchair, walker, hospital bed etc. I am very hands-on with the patients and equipment that each may need assistance with. I also help run the office (answer phones, run insurance, take payments, order supplies, inventory, etc) I have delivered equipment to patients homes, or facility that they may in and explain and demonstrate how to use what the Doctor sent over for them to receive if they can’t make it into the office. I am on call every other week.

This position as a PCT is making rounds every other hour (even hour) to check and make sure the patient is doing OK and if there is anything I can get them or help them do, check and document everything they input and output. Give showers, or beds baths if they are TC and walk them if they want to stretch their legs. Serve each patient breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Make sure they are getting the right food and beverages on their tray. If the patient is on isolation I must scrub in and dress appropriately to enter their room. Daily I have 15 patients by myself, and I am assisting each 1 of them the whole 12 hours I am working. I have experience in documenting and chart charges to each patient.
