In 2023 after recovering from a severe back injury the previous year, I went on to become the World Champion at the IBJJF Worlds Masters jiu-jitsu tournament in Las Vegas. I competed as a purple belt in the Masters 5 age division (50-55 yo) against 27 other competitors from around the world. I am currently a brown belt on my way to become a black belt.
