Responsible for handling the air import shipments (200-350 shipment per month) and overseeing a daily operation, leading and providing stability for air import staff. Assist customers with their inbound air shipment coming into the U.S. from various countries in compliance with US Customs, FDA and USDA Regulations. Work with the in house customs broker and outside brokerage firms to obtain Customs release and other government agency releases as appropriate, arranging delivery to meet our customers’ needs and monitoring delivery status until cargo delivery is completed by obtaining a proof of delivery and the appropriate account in a timely manner. Communicate with customers, carriers and overseas offices regarding proper documentation and shipping instruction for imports. Responsible for filing cargo claims (missing, damaged) from initiation of claims to final payment and closure. Provide a spot rate per customers’ requests, setting up a new rate for new customers, and existing customers to achieve increasing our profit by at least by 20%. Analyze and maintain a high level of customer service and report monthly KPI (Key Performance Indicator) to Branch manager. Responsible for issuing invoices (300-350 invoices per month) and processing payment to vendors such as airlines, trucking companies and maintain a lower rate of outstanding invoices by sending out overdue notice to customers and keep monitoring payment status until payment will be made.
