LEAD is a pre-arrest diversion program that targets frequent low level, non violent offenders to help address their unmet behavioral health needs that results in recidivism with the criminal justice system. The Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) credential standardizes qualifications of those working in recovery support environments within the behavioral health system The CPRS credential is designed for individuals with personal, lived experience in their own recovery from addiction, mental illness, co-occurring disorders and family/allies of behavioral health. The CPRS certification validates the person in long-term recovery has obtain formal training and education of the knowledge, skills and abilities in each of the four Domain and is committed to the adherence to the Ethics Code of Conduct, Principles and Service Guidelines.
