• Assesses and monitors child and adolescent patients’ daily functioning and assist in mental health symptom management, including daily suicide and self-injurious behavior assessments.
• Manage units of 8 to 11 patients. Delegate tasks to unlicensed staff and provide coaching if necessary.
• Collaborate with team, which include psychiatrist, RNs, social workers, therapists, medical providers, and mental health counselors to ensure safe patient care.
• Used therapeutic approaches to manage milieus with a focus on reducing the use of restraint and seclusion when possible.
• Plans and facilitates nursing groups with patients when scheduled during shift.

• RN on a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive medical and behavioral health care to clients admitted to the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU).
• Manage medications including collaborating with providers and pharmacies for refills, new medication, clozapine protocols, and medication effectiveness.
• Provide medical assessments and care to clients diagnosed with mental illness/chemical dependency in a short term treatment facility.
• Collaborate with intake coordinator and community hospitals, other facilities, and mental health agencies to determine if a potential admit is medically stable to admit to the CSU.
• Report directly to the facility director. Collaborate with therapists, peer support specialists and mental health practitioners daily regarding client needs.
• Provide nursing assessments to all new clients upon admission. Includes vital signs, brief history, current medical and psychiatric diagnoses, body systems review, and medication reconciliation.

• RN on a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive medical and behavioral health care to clients in the community.
• Physically and mentally assess clients that have a serious and persistent mental illness, or personality disorder with severe functional impairments.
• Administer long acting neuroleptic medication via intramuscular route for clients on a two week to four week basis.
• Supervised medication set up with clients at their place of residence.
• Collaborate with correctional facilities, hospitals, group homes, sober living homes and forensic psychiatric facilities to assure there are no gaps in client care and to arrange for visits if facility permits.
• Suicide assessments on first visit with client at the beginning of the week and as needed.
• AIMS testing once every six months and as needed.
• Collaborate closely with the ACT team psychiatrist to place orders and renewal requests along with prior authorizations to keep clients medication on order and available.

• Registered Nurse for a 16 person IRTS facility (Intensive Residential Treatment Services)
• Provide medical assessments and care to clients diagnosed with mental illness/chemical dependency in a short term treatment facility.
• Manage medications including collaborating with providers and pharmacies for refills, new medication, clozapine protocols, and medication effectiveness.
• Train and educate 20 to 25 staff members on the six rights of medication management.
• Supervise all medication administration, either directly or by weekly audits of each client's medication administration record.

• Established and led a Health and Wellness Group three times weekly. Includes walks, medication education, coping skills strategies, and one on one time with clients to answer individual questions regarding physical and/or mental health, and any medication questions.
• Coordinated with Geritom Pharmacy to set up a COVID-19 vaccine clinic at the facility for first and second doses. Provided education to clients and staff regarding the Moderna vaccine. Including benefits vs risks, and possible side effects.
• Provide nursing assessments to all new clients within 48 hours of admission. Includes vital signs, brief history, current medical and psychiatric diagnoses, body systems review, medication education, and suicide assessment.
• Collaborate with medical, psychiatric, dental, optometry and specialty providers to make needed appointments for clients. Write medical referrals for clients for each appointment. Keep the team up to date with appointments through electronic charting, emails, and on paper calendar. Delegate staff to arrange for transportation to appointments and provide oversight to assure clients have the opportunity to get to appointments.

• Provide mental health evaluations and consults to the home care team which includes, home health aides, LPN's, RN's, Physical therapist, Occupational therapist, Social Workers, and providers.
