When thinking about my job history, I have had many opportunity’s to branch my wings and get a feel for what I love to do. From installing security systems and informing customers about what they are paying for to working with inmates and making sure they all abide by the law, stay out of trouble, and ensure the safety of other officers/ nurses/ etc… Now I am currently working in a Mental Hospital where I get to interact with patients, monitor their behavior, health, and wellness. In doing this I have taken vitals on patients when arriving and leaving the facility. I have learned how to do an EKG to monitor patients heart rates. I have also learned how to safely and respectfully deal with patients who lash out and have a behavioral outburst. With working my previous jobs I have acquired many skills to help patients with disabilities, behavioral problems, and mental health problems. When I have worked with my patients I not only took care of them, but I fell in love with what I did. I loved being able to learn my patients and who they really are, learning what their struggles were along side them, and how to help cope with these struggles. Finally my favorite thing about the hospital was I loved seeing the progress that was made in my patients mental health and well being while they stayed at the hospital.
