
Analytical professional with a strong background in quality concrete management and product liability investigations. Expertise in data analysis and effective communication with customers and cross department teams, driving optimal mix performance and addressing quality issues proactively.
Train and Lead quality control technicians which includes regular performance evaluations, maintaining ACI, SCDOT & NRMCA certifications, scheduling jobsite coverage, managing hours, truck maintenance, safety performance and continued education. Prepare daily SC technician assignment schedule, including all special instructions needed for concrete pours to be successful, and email to appropriate distribution list in a timely manner each day.
Provide comprehensive quality concrete management and leadership in the Midlands, Coastal, and Charleston market areas. Train area operations managers or plant managers on the slump training content and review the slump assessment procedures. Assist as needed by personally attending or helping to provide a technician to assist with the slump assessment portion.
Demonstrate ownership of comprehensive product liability investigations in the Midlands, Coastal, and Charleston markets as to include issues related to low concrete strengths, plastic shrinkage cracking of flatwork, cracking in hardened concrete, under yielding, setting time, discoloration, etc. This may require site visits to visually assess and perform condition surveys, coordination of raw materials testing, hardened concrete testing and/or petrography, data analysis, and verbal and written reporting to both CSC team members, customers, and design professionals. Responsibility entails planning, organizing, and coordinating/executing the tasks associated with a comprehensive investigation which is brought to a logical conclusion, and which contains professionally reported results, recommendations, and conclusions.
Work closely with Midlands, Coastal, and Charleston markets’ Sales dept. to review projects and ensure project test results from 3rd party laboratories are being sent to Technical Services. Routinely communicate with administrative assistant to ensure test results are being properly entered on a timely basis. Perform regular Midlands, Coastal, and Charleston mix historical data analysis and reporting to supervisor to ensure the most economical mixtures are utilized in this market. Performance goal is submission of a monthly strength performance report to supervisor detailing mix performance and status of Midlands, Coastal, and Charleston test result collection from current ongoing projects.
Prepare mix verification curves and reports as required, leadership on field trial batching including appropriate communication of results, and regular historical data analysis and reporting to ensure most economical mixtures are utilized in the Midlands, Coastal, and Charleston markets.
Prepare and/or supervise preparation of mix design submittals, and provide technical assistance to Midlands, Coastal, and Charleston Sales representatives, as requested, on mix design selection and other information required for quote preparation.
