As a member of the team I in-took shelter animals and got them ready for the adoption floor. Did physical exams and vaccinated them as well as get them ready for surgery. Took care of the sick one’s in isolation. Spoke with potential adopters about the pets. Cleaned after them and medicated them. After that I went to the clinic side and worked in the surgical suite assisting on surgery. Prepping the patients, inducing them and monitor them while under anesthesia. Recovered patients and got them ready to go home or back to the shelter. I also assisted in rooms, educated clients on products and medications.

As a member of the team I was charged with managing incoming and outgoing calls while making sure to take timely and accurate notes and messages. I greeted patients while maintaining a neat and clean reception area along with other clerical responsibilities. I was also in charge of preparing patient charts for all incoming and outgoing clients as well as managing appointment setting for future visits or referrals for other veterinary specialty offices.

Outside of clerical duties, I was also in charge of obtaining basic medical information from patients, taking vital signs, evaluating patient care needs and prioritizing emergency situations while managing patient flow throughout the day.
