• Build positive relationships with parents communicating with dojo and daily folders.
• Teach lessons encompassing skill-building activities in speaking, writing, reading and listening.

• Implement classroom management improvements to enhance class morale and engagement, using positive reinforcement, such as mystery student of the day and fake money to spend when completing classroom jobs
• Work with students one-to-one for Tier level 3 MTSS
• Work in small reading groups, while others work independently on differentiated tasks.

Students were instructed in small cohorts with 2 days per week. Other students were instructed remotely. My teammate Sarah Ozgundez (Vogel) traveled to classroom due to covid. We transitioned to have all students in person for 4 days per week. We simultaneously taught in person, as well as remotely until we had a virtual teacher. Students were instructed in Knowledge (Social Studies) and Language Arts. The enthusiasm to engage and participate in class was amazing. Students that hesitated to read aloud in class felt comfortable doing so with the classroom community that was established. I taught the NC standards with innovation using supplemental materials. Students were engaged in reading supplemental materials and using classroom resources, such as shower curtain (which was a map posted to the back wall). I posted objectives on a daily basis, so students knew what the goals were. By the end of the year we were able to assess students to be comfortable. I help meet the needs of a student that was qualified for a 504. He scored a 4 on his EOG. I feel it is extremely important to be flexible and to challenge those students that need a challenge. I believe it is important to establish clear and direct instructions of expectations. Based upon Fontas and Pinnell, students had growth, as well as MAP testing in Reading and Math. I followed up on skills that certain students struggled with and adapted instruction, such as modifying the number of choices for multiple choice and allowing extra time. I believe all student are unique and as a teacher I will do what I can to create a bond and work with the child.
