Service Learning Experience - Description
My service-learning hours have consisted of BISD school visitations for a year regarding my early childhood education plan. I would observe the teacher's skills and help them with classroom activities. I would also observe the teacher's adaptation to her students. I would always interact with the children under the teacher's supervision. I got several certifications for completion at school and several out of school activities.
Volunteer Experience
CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate), Volunteer, 10/2017, 10/2018, I would visit children from several court cases to their home. I would make sure they are doing well at their home/foster parents’ home. Visit them at least twice a month to see how they are doing. I would be one on one with the youths talking about their daily lives, giving me updates about school and their life. At the end of my visitations, my homework would be to give my updates of the visit to my supervisor. Later, throughout the month we would go to court, and we would present it to the judge at the courthouse.
