  • My responsibilities as a USNA in SRI is to help assist patients back to their daily living skills so that they are able to function appropriately at home after traumatic events & surgeries. SRI specializes in spinal, stroke & TBI patients with the appropriate equipment to mobilize patients safely. Other tasks assigned in SRI are data entry, such as vital signs, I&Os, patients ADLs, oral care, personal hygiene, showers, etc. Bladder scanning, time voiding patients, encouraging patients to sit up for meals and throughout the day, repositioning patients to prevent wounds and pressure injuries. Unit Secretary duties are answering phones, call lights, keeping a safe and clean environment at the nurses stations and halls, keeping supplies stocked, communicating and relaying messages with various staff members. Following policies, infection control, isolation precautions, swallowing precautions, guidelines, and keeping up with CEUs, elearning and staff meetings, etc.
