Developed a data-driven tool to compare the 5-year total cost of ownership (TCO) across different vehicle types—including sedans, SUVs, electric vehicles (EVs), and sports cars—by integrating public datasets and industry reports. The tool calculated and visualized key cost components such as fuel or electricity usage, insurance premiums, maintenance and repair costs, and vehicle depreciation. Designed to assist consumers and analysts in making informed vehicle purchasing decisions, the model revealed how EVs often achieve cost parity or long-term savings despite higher upfront prices.
Analyzed a dataset of over 1,000 vehicles to identify the top 5 most efficient cars based on a weighted scoring model incorporating fuel efficiency (MPG), safety ratings (NHTSA scores), purchase price (under $35,000), and performance benchmarks (0–60 mph, horsepower). Filtered and ranked vehicles using consumer-aligned thresholds, such as minimum 4-star safety ratings and fuel economy above 30 MPG. Utilized Matplotlib and Seaborn to create clear visual comparisons across categories, delivering insights that support informed decision-making for budget-conscious and safety-focused car buyers.
