As a Distribution mechanic for over ten years I have led crews within the underground Electric Construction distribution grid by installing secondary cable for existing and new business jobs ranging from #2 to 750 kcmil. I have also installed Underground submersible and dry type buss tables leading a team of up to six crew members, in addition to network protectors and 13kV transformers for newly constructed underground vaults or replacement due to equipment failure. I have also referenced one line diagrams troubleshooting network protectors prior to recommending equipment replacement. Additionally, I’ve developed relationships with several departments including but not limited to Energy Service Project Managers and Customer Property Managers; verifying layouts of the distribution grid into vaulted structures prior to cable installation satisfying service request dates and deadlines. As a Distribution Mechanic leading jobs has also allowed me to train new employees with use of power tools, company policies and procedures. Recognizing and identifying unusual, unsafe or inappropriate working conditions in effort to confirm a safe working environment governed under DOT regulation. Upon completion of safety setup within our designated work space I then designate the job function of each employee on site of their daily responsibilities and expectations. The responsibilities of the utility industry often calls for unsolicited overtime due to weather and/or system related events where I voluntarily accept overtime during my shift in addition to off hours, weekends and holidays and possess a valid drivers license .
