I worked in medical records temporarily for six months, covering the regular employee on maternity leave.
Job duties for medical records included:
Download and link incoming patient files to appropriate chart.
Confirm appointments for the following day for 3-6 specialty veterinary doctors, including giving instructions based on appointment type.
Manage Medical records email and respond to incoming emails and record requests.
Answer incoming medical record calls and sending requested and approved records.
Request records from various Veterinary offices/hospitals, throughout the state and surrounding area by email or phone.
Scan and link paperwork and patient history into appropriate patient chart.
For two months after medical records, my new position was hospital administrative assistant.
Job duties include:
Receive, organize and file records into appropriate file.
Handle company records.
Alphabetical incoming materials and organize.
Make copies, fax and email documents as requested.
Analyze and help fix errors in hospital invoices.
Scheduled and coordinate meetings as needed.
Opened, sorted and distribute incoming and outgoing hospital mail.
For four months now and currently ongoing until June 2024, my new and ending position is a veterinary assistant. Job duties include:
Complete labs with Idexx laboratory equipment and much more to perform all tests including CBCs, hematocrit blood test, chemical panels, and much more.
Perform animal care such as feeding, walking, restrain and transport.
Sanitize and organize all areas of the hospital including cleaning bathrooms, and sweeping and mopping.
Assist in the preparation and recovery of surgery patients.
Clean and probably sanitize surgery equipment.
Monitor Emergency and Anesthesia during surgery realtime.
Stock all areas of the hospital.
Open, sort and distribute incoming boxes.
Fill and prepare medications in pharmacy to be dispensed to clients.
Check and report what is needed in inventory as needed.
