- Developed full life-cycle Billing & Revenue Management platform (comprising of products such as Aladdin Billing Central, Aladdin Billing & Revenue Automation, and the Revenue Event Hub) to manage the ever-changing fee terms, seamless fee-schedule activation, multi-product bundle pricing, revenue accounting including amortization, payment tracking, revenue forecasting and highly customizable reporting capabilities. This platform / suite of products featured some significant “firsts” for BlackRock – a modular fee calculator capable of computing complex performance and management fees, innovative workflows with rule-based exception management, and seamless STP integration of all the revenue streams with the firm’s financial accounting platform
- End-to-end Billing and Revenue Automation helps provide the efficiency and scale needed to meet the Aladdin Client business’ (SaaS) projections of growing revenue from $1B to $2B by 2025
- The Revenue Event Hub product provides a consolidated view of the firm’s revenue and transparency into the progress of revenue/accrual posting across the various revenue streams. Being a one-stop solution for the firm’s revenue, Revenue Event Hub provides rich reporting helping forecast/project revenues towards year-end
- Completed a once-in-a-generation migration of the firm’s financial accounting platform, which included everything from redefining the granularity of revenue booking to migrating the books and records to a cloud-based accounting platform to re-architecting the connectivity in/out of the accounting platform
- Reduced average invoice ship-out time for Institutional Clients and Aladdin Clients by 60 days
- Efficiencies achieved through the various billing and revenue products helped to save firm more than 40 full-time equivalents (FTEs) across sales, business operations and finance teams
- Defined a unified design language (UX + Visual Design) across all the Enterprise products distinguishing them rest of the Aladdin offerings
- Opened a potential new stream of SaaS-based revenue for BlackRock – worth approximately $5M-8M annually
- Established procedures to validate and improve accuracy of financial reporting
- Targeted prospective Aladdin clients and worked out a pricing strategy based on competition analysis for taking the platform external
