  • Reconfigured entire layout of equipment and departments in an effort to improve work flow. Added 10 new pieces of equipment to increase capacity as part of a $7 million capex.
  • Increased UPLH from 23 to 32 by developing new SOPs as well as improved work flow.

  • EHS has been my main focus over past year. Specifically, machine guarding and LOTO regulations.
  • Machine guarding was being bypassed by operators by removing safety switches and actual guarding. LOTO procedures were not up to date with current machines. Developed new documentation, displayed by machine, and trained affected and authorized employees.
  • Implement quality procedures to improve overall plant quality.
  • Customers are asking for improved quality expectations. Implemented new procedures to increase time pulls of product during production. Also introduced secondary startup checks to ensure product is as customer specified on job ticket.

  • Manage 70+ operators on high speed water heater paint and assembly line.
  • Improved production on line from average of 92% to 97%. Line was scheduled to run at a cycle time of 21.4 seconds.
  • Identified standard model could run at higher line speed rate which encompassed about 70% of daily production schedule.
  • Increased line speed from 21.4 seconds to 19.4 seconds which allowed for 9.3% increase in overall line speed during standard model.
  • The other roughly 30% of production schedule included higher work content models which created more line stoppages and quality concerns as employees struggled at the 21.4 second cycle time. To help employees achieve consistent production and decreased line stoppages we decreased the line speed to 22.4 seconds. Even though this slowed production it also decreased line stops and the overall affect improved production.

  • Improved machine uptime by developing preventive maintenance based on OEM specifications. Even though we dedicated 4 hours a week to PM time overall machine uptime increased from 74% to 82% which included MR, Run, and cleanup time.

  • Designed and implement LOTO for each piece of equipment to ensure company met OSHA specification for affected and authorized employees.
