I recently graduated from high school and since August I have been participating in the Elevate Gap Program through the YMCA of the Rockies. This is a leadership and personal growth program focused on community service, outdoor education, and professional development. I have already gained and continue to gain hands-on experience through volunteer projects, teamwork, and outdoor adventure activities designed to build character, independence, and life skills. I chose to do this program right after high school instead of going straight to college because I wanted to learn more about myself and explore what I might want to do in the future. I also wanted to experience new places and step outside my comfort zone. I hope to continue to dive deeper into my interests such as art and design, music, the environment, and just the things I am passionate about in general through future employment opportunities.
