- Rotated through the cardiac, pulmonary, and neuroscience intensive care units (ICUs), gaining knowledge with advanced life support technologies including ECMOs, LVADs, mechanical ventilation, impella, and intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABPs)
- Developed understanding in managing acute critical conditions including acute coronary syndrome (ACS), cardiogenic shock, congestive heart failure (CHF), acute cerebral infarction, ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, acute respiratory failure, and pulmonary embolism
- Gained familiarity with managing long term medical conditions including diabetes, hypertension, chronic pulmonary obstructive disease, heart disease, kidney disease, and arthritis
- Educated patients on preventative screenings, medication review, pre-op care, and lab/imaging results in the outpatient setting
- Gained familiarity in managing common hospital admissions including pneumonia, chronic pulmonary obstructive disease, heart failure, and sepsis while addressing co-existing medical conditions
- Managed acute conditions on the medical floor as well as reviewed lab results and ordered corresponding diagnostics based on patients’ conditions

- Teach a Head Start class of 10-20 children about the roles of healthcare
- Play and teach children about the duties of a receptionist, nurse, doctor, radiology, splinting/casting
- Attend the Su Casa orchard to tour and become familiar with farmworker duties, visa/recruitment, social determinants that workers face, migrant health issues
- Volunteered at Team Impact as part of the university’s swim team, where I helped plan activities to provide support and relief from chemotherapy for terminally ill children
