As a sanitation supervisor, I was to assist with leading the crew at company truck wash/baker facilities. Lead all efforts related to the safe and timely scheduling, washing/disinfecting, and baking of all trucks and trailers.

• Directly supervises employees in the Sanitation Department.
• Assure all Live Haul units are washed, disinfected, and baked based on current bio-security procedures and within the required scheduling times.
• Trained team members in proper cleaning and sanitizing procedures.
• Monitored employee performance in order to ensure that established standards of cleanliness are met.
• Coordinate all scheduling with production facilities and transportation units.
• Coordinate washing schedules for the next day, up to three weeks out.

As a sow farm HOD, I assisted in directing the daily operations of the farm's breeding department. Some of these responsibilities were scheduling and assigning tasks to meet production goals, staff development/training, animal and human health and welfare. Know and perform all department functions/tasks personally and through subordinates.

The HOD position will also provide all care of animals at the designated work site, particularly their health, growth, and breeding.

Identify and doctor sick cattle, and ensure livestock are handled in a professional and humane manner.

• Diagnose and provide treatment of all livestock in feedlot by performing the following duties:
• Treat sick animals with a variety of pharmaceuticals by injection, oral application, and/or other required methods.
• Follow animal welfare policies and procedures, including providing a physical environment to meet the animal's needs, adequate water/feed, good husbandry practices, appropriate identification and treatment of healthcare, including euthanasia, and proper disposal of mortality.
• Participate and/or perform animal necropsies to determine the cause of death.
• Document cattle movements and drug treatment records by the established procedure or data entry programs. Including records of all issued identification tags (EIDs, Hospital, and Lot numbers), withdrawal dates pertaining to treatments history.
• Maintaining accurate medicine inventory.
• Evaluate assigned hospital and specialty pens for re-treatment or movement to 'go-home' pens.
• Assist as needed in any cattle department-related tasks.
• Comply in OSHA/Safety procedures, rules, and regulations.

Head Pen Rider.

Identify and provide prompt treatment to sick cattle, ensuring all livestock is handled in a safe, professional, and humane manner.

• Safely ride pens, inspect cattle, pull animals to be evaluated, and treat based on appearance and other signs of illness. Drive pulls to the nearest hospital site.
• At shipping: verify headcounts, retrieve cattle from applicable pens (strays, Buller and hospital pens) and move shipping areas. Segregate any animals not in conformance for shipping, (downers, deads or "Hot" due to withdrawal dates)
• Review and assist in daily agenda of cattle movements, including catching strays, hospital pulls, 'go-homes,' and incoming cattle.
• Maintain the physical condition of horses, practice adequate horsemanship skills (feedlot setting), good housekeeping of tack and facilities.
• Notify appropriate personnel of repairs or pen maintenance needed.
• Work closely with consultants to improve cattle health and performance, including reporting possible high-risk pens.
• Evaluate assigned hospital and specialty pens for re-treatment or movement to home pens.
• Assist as needed in any cattle department-related tasks.
• Comply in OSHA/Safety procedures, rules, and regulations.

Head Vet-tech.

• Doctor cattle in the manner prescribed by the Head Doctor or Cattle Manager.
• Maintain accurate data entry: tag numbers, lot numbers, withdrawal dates, and treatment history.
• Maintain all medications and medical supplies properly stored, per direction of the Head Doctor.
• Notify personnel responsible for the end-of-days reports.
• Perform housekeeping duties as assigned by the Head Doctor or Cattle Manager.
• Assist, as needed, in any cattle department-related tasks.
• Comply in OSHA/Safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
