Patient Support, Education & Coordination Leadership & Operational Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered care for individuals with high-risk pregnancies in a fast-paced OBGYN clinic setting.
• Administer medications and treatments according to protocols, ensuring safety, accuracy, and compliance.
• Monitor and assess vital signs, physical symptoms, and patient status to inform care planning and early interventions.
• Support and educate patients during procedures including colposcopies, injections, and lab draws, ensuring comfort and clarity.
• Perform wound care, catheterizations, and other hands-on clinical interventions while maintaining strict infection control practices.
• Utilize EPIC to document nursing assessments, care plans, medications, and discharge instructions to ensure continuity of care.
• Serve as the lead nurse for Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Faculty Clinic, coordinating care for complex, high-risk patients and collaborating closely with specialized providers.
• Support seamless care through inbasket management, facilitating communication between providers, staff, and patients for timely issue resolution and care coordination.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, prenatal care, procedures, and medications, promoting understanding and adherence.
• Deliver compassionate emotional support to families facing difficult or uncertain pregnancy outcomes, promoting trust and open communication.
• Serve as liaison between patients, providers, and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
• Coordinate patient care across specialty clinics, including Procedures Clinic, Colposcopy Clinic, and Quant Clinic, ensuring smooth scheduling, patient prep, and follow-up.
• Improve clinic workflows through initiatives such as room utilization project and procedural scheduling improvements, resulting in increased efficiency and patient satisfaction.
• Regularly serve in the charge nurse role, overseeing clinic operations, assigning roles, managing patient flow, and solving real-time issues to ensure safe and efficient care delivery.
• Lead template maintenance efforts to optimize provider scheduling and resource allocation.
• Preceptor for over five years, mentoring and training new nursing staff, students, and rotating team members to uphold best practices and patient-centered care.
• Manage communication workflows through the EPIC InBasket, coordinating timely responses and task assignments across clinical staff and providers.
• Spearheaded clinic-wide projects to improve efficiency and reduce costs, including:
  Clinic Room Utilization Project to enhance patient throughput and reduce wait times.
  Graduation & Retention Project aimed at improving employee retention and reducing training-related expenses by developing structured onboarding and recognition milestones.
