- Briefing students on what goals were for the day prior to going out on the water. Once on the water, coaching and giving feedback, while ensuring what they were doing was safe and technically correct(a big challenge since students were independently sailing in their own boats).
- Even though safety and learning were top priorities, having fun on the water was something I strived for when coaching. My goal was to make sure that each kid went home knowing they had an enjoyable day.
- Working with the sailing director on three primary areas communicating student progress/issues, teaching skills, and problem-solving with equipment issues/student issues.
- Most Rewarding Moment: Hearing that the director thought of me as one of the most valuable instructors.
