I have an extensive background in retail. I have loved growing things since living near my grandfather's farm in northern Alabama, when i was a child. I am a wife, mother of four adult children and four grandchildren. I enjoy people and assisting them with their purchases and any gardening knowledge that I can share.

I became interested in gardening as a child watching my grandfather go out to his fields, early of a morning to plow his cotton and soybean fields.

i learned the importance of trees, flowers and growing food at an early age. I moved to Opelika a year and a half ago to be near my husband's job. My house is new,so my yard is a blank slate. I spend many hours outdoors, learning about the new soil here and what grows best in this zone. Gardeners learn something new all the time.

I enjoy taking vintage or old furniture people no longer want or need, and re-purposing it
